The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to become part of our fantastic team at an SEN school in Newmarket. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and have a genuine passion for supporting students with a variety of needs. This position is perfect for a supportive individual who wants to contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide personalised support, helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons.
- Help create a calm and positive classroom atmosphere where students feel safe and motivated to learn.
- Assist with the social, emotional, and physical development of students.
- Modify learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
- Oversee the general well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A naturally caring, empathetic, and compassionate personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The flexibility to adapt and use your initiative.
- A positive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping SEN students succeed.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus, but not essential.
