We are seeking enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our vibrant school communities across the North Manchester area. This is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What we're looking for:
Experience: A minimum of 3-6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in UK school settings (Nursery and/or Primary).
Team Teach Training: A willingness to attend and complete Team Teach training (provided as part of your induction, if not already held). This is essential for supporting children with challenging behaviours safely and effectively.
Commitment: A dedicated and reliable individual looking for full-time, long-term work. While initial placements may be day-to-day, our aim is to secure you consistent, long-term positions.
Working Hours: Ability to commit to full-time hours, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time.
Passion for SEN: A genuine desire to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioural needs.
Key Qualities: Patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, adaptability, resilience, and a positive attitude.
Your Role Will Involve:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Supporting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Assisting with classroom management and supporting positive behaviour strategies.
Liaising with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for pupils.
Preparing and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs.
