Your Role and Responsibilities

- Facilitate Individual Learning: Work closely with students, helping to implement personalised learning plans and adapting activities to suit their specific needs and learning styles.
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Support students by implementing positive behaviour management strategies, creating a calm and structured classroom where they feel secure and motivated.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Act as a crucial link between students, teachers, and parents. Your observations and feedback will be key to shaping a student's support and progress.
- Encourage Social Development: Help students build friendships and practice essential social skills during class time, breaks, and school trips, fostering a sense of community.
- Provide Holistic Care: Assist with personal care and student well-being with the utmost dignity and respect, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the school day.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. The perfect candidate will have:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Child DBS on the update service
- Empathy and Resilience: The ability to connect with students on their level and remain positive and patient, even in challenging moments.
- A Proactive Mindset: A keen eye for detail and the initiative to anticipate needs and find creative solutions.
- A Team-Oriented Approach: A desire to work collaboratively within a supportive and friendly team, sharing knowledge and celebrating successes together.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a school, care, or voluntary setting working with children with SEN is highly desirable. A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) would be an advantage.
