The Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join the team, working with students who have a range of special educational needs. The ideal candidate will be caring, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people. This is a wonderful role for someone who wants to contribute to a positive and inclusive school community. You will collaborate with teachers and staff to provide tailored support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons.
- Help create a calm and supportive classroom environment where students feel secure and motivated.
- Support students' social, emotional, and physical development.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of individual students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Assist with the overall well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A kind, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be flexible and resourceful.
- A positive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping students with SEN succeed.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus, but not required.
