The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our excellent team at an SEN school in Soham. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and have a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs. This role is perfect for a caring individual who wants to contribute to a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide personalised support, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons for all students.
- Help create a calm and encouraging classroom environment where students feel safe and motivated to learn.
- Assist with the social, emotional, and physical development of students.
- Modify learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
- Oversee the general well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A naturally caring, empathetic, and compassionate personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The flexibility to adapt and use your own initiative.
- A positive outlook and a genuine commitment to helping SEN students succeed.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus, but not essential.
