Randstad are working with a Secondary School in Lewisham, South East London who is looking to appoint an exceptional SENCO. This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a high achieving and truly comprehensive community school which challenges the stereotypes of underachieving pupils.

The Role
As SENCO, you'll be a guiding our SEND provision. You'll ensure every student with an EHCP receives exceptional support, fostering their academic progress and wellbeing. Your key responsibilities will include:
...
* Leading the strategic development and operational oversight of our SEND provision, ensuring full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Coordinating and chairing all Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, ensuring person-centred planning.
* Liaising effectively with parents/carers, external agencies (e.g., EPs, SALT, CAMHS), and other professionals.
* Managing and developing our dedicated team of Learning Support Workers and Teaching Assistants, promoting best practices
* Providing expert guidance and professional development to staff on inclusive teaching, differentiation, and trauma-informed practices.
* Maintaining accurate SEN records and using data to inform provision and school improvement.
* Championing the school's vision of nurturing independent learners prepared for adult life.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a commitment to achieving it within three years.
* A deep and current understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and best practices for supporting students
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
* A genuine passion for fostering student wellbeing, resilience, and independence.
