We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to take a lead role within the dedicated inclusion team at our successful and forward-thinking comprehensive school.

The Role: SEND Teacher
This pivotal teaching position involves taking ownership of the learning environment and curriculum delivery for students primarily supported within our specialist resource base and those requiring targeted in-class intervention. You will lead the creation of highly individualised, exciting learning experiences that develop not only academic skills but also key life skills and emotional resilience.

Core Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and execute a creative, differentiated, and engaging curriculum for students with a range of learning barriers, focusing on key functional skills and core subjects.
- Conduct regular, rigorous assessment of student progress against EHCP targets, adapting teaching methods promptly based on data and observation.
- Lead the team of assigned Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), providing clear direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate closely with parents/carers and external support services (e.g., Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy) to create a cohesive support framework.
- Act as a Key Worker/Link Teacher for a caseload of students, overseeing the implementation of their provision map and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
- Contribute actively to whole-school policy and strategy development regarding inclusive teaching and learning practices.
- Manage and maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating specialist learning environment.
We Are Looking For a Professional Who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally a relevant postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCO or specific training in Autism/Dyslexia).
- Has demonstrable experience teaching across different key stages (KS3/KS4) with a focus on SEND.
- Possesses expert knowledge of various SEND categories, effective intervention strategies, and current legislative requirements (SEND Code of Practice).
- Can showcase outstanding classroom practice with a proven ability to motivate and build strong rapport with students who may be disengaged.
- Is an excellent communicator and a strong, supportive leader capable of mentoring and inspiring support staff.
