Pay Range: £30.00 - £38.80 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 08:30-16:45, Fri 08:30-16:15)

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join a specialist Component Engineering team during a significant period of investment in New Product Introduction (NPI). This role focuses on developing design solutions for complex engine components, specifically for both traditional and alternative fuel applications.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced CAD Design: Execute expert-level modeling of complex geometry and surface modeling for major castings, specifically cylinder heads and blocks, using CREO 10.
System Layout: Develop the architecture of components interacting with valvetrains, lubrication, cooling, and breathing systems.
Risk Management: Lead and conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify design risks and determine validation needs.
Production Readiness: Create technical drawings and data to support the release of parts for prototype and volume production.
Collaboration: Manage interactions with external suppliers using APQP methodology to develop cost-effective design solutions.
What You Will Have
Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in CREO 10 for complex surface modeling.
Experience: 4-6 years of design experience in CAD, with a focus on engine and mechanical components.
Technical Knowledge: A sound understanding of casting and machining processes for complex cast iron components.
Standards: Familiarity with component manufacturing and assembly principles, as well as data management software such as Teamcenter.
Education: A strong technical background, with an HNC or technical degree in mechanical or automotive engineering preferred.
