Senior Quantity Surveyor: Lead the Commercial Success of Major Civil Projects
Are you a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and manage the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale civil engineering projects. This is a unique opportunity to lead, innovate, and contribute to some of the most complex heavy construction and infrastructure projects in the industry.
We're looking for a leader-someone with a sharp commercial mind and the proven ability to drive financial efficiency and ensure contractual compliance from project inception to close-out. You'll be at the forefront of managing budgets, leading subcontractor negotiations, and administering contracts (primarily NEC, FIDIC, or JCT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial and contractual management of complex heavy construction projects.
- Oversee project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasting.
- Administer contracts and manage change orders, compensation events, and variations.
- Lead the procurement and management of subcontracts from tender through to final account.
- Mentor and support junior team members, helping to develop the next generation of talent.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with recent experience in a senior or lead role.
- A proven track record on heavy civil engineering or infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, rail, marine, or tunneling).
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4, FIDIC, or JCT forms of contract.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
