Our client is looking for a strong Senior Site Manager to join a premier Tier 1 Contractor. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role on some of the most significant commercial developments in around Leicester.
Key Responsibilities ...
Operational Leadership: Managing the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with the construction programme and technical specifications.
Sub-contractor Management: Coordinating various trade packages, chairing weekly progress meetings, and ensuring all sub-contractors adhere to rigorous quality and safety standards.
Health, Safety & Environment: Maintaining an impeccable safety record on-site. You will be responsible for implementing RAMS, conducting site inductions, and ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
Quality Control: Implementing a "Right First Time" culture. You will oversee quality inspections, manage the snagging process, and ensure the final handover meets Tier 1 expectations.
Commercial Awareness: Working closely with the surveying team to monitor variations, manage site costs, and identify potential risks to the budget or timeline.
Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for architects, engineers, and the client, providing regular updates on milestones and technical challenges.
Required Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for a professional who demonstrates both the technical "know-how" and the leadership presence required for high-value schemes.
Experience: Proven time served in a Site Management role, specifically working on high-value commercial projects for a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern construction methods, structural steel, RC frames, and high-end fit-out requirements.
Certifications:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
CSCS Black Card ideally
First Aid at Work
Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential with relevant experience)
Software Literacy: Proficiency in project management software (such as Aconex, Procore, or Field View) and a solid grasp of Microsoft Project or ASTA Powerproject.
