We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Site Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a significant groundworks and civil engineering project. You will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of this project, ensuring works are completed accurately, safely, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out, levelling, and surveying the site, ensuring precise execution of engineering designs.
- Overseeing and managing all on-site engineering activities, including groundworks, drainage, foundations, and associated civil works.
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries, as-built drawings, and quality assurance documentation.
- Liaising effectively with the Project Manager, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring progress and resolving any technical issues or queries that may arise on site.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assisting with the management of plant, materials, and resources.
- Conducting quality control checks and inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within the groundworks and civil engineering sectors.
- Proficient in setting out techniques and the use of surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to work effectively within a team.
- A proactive and diligent approach to work.
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline (e.g., HNC, HND, Degree).
- A valid CSCS card is essential.
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualifications would be advantageous.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other relevant design software is desirable.
