Main Contractor | North East England | Commercial Projects
Our client is a leading main contractor seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team in the North East. They specialise in large-scale commercial building projects and are looking for a dedicated professional to manage our sites across the region.
The Role
As a Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to health and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervision and Management: Oversee all on-site activities, including the supervision of subcontractors and direct labor.
Health and Safety: Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
Project Planning and Execution: Work closely with the Project Manager to plan and execute construction activities, ensuring the project schedule is maintained.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets our high standards and the project specifications.
Budget Management: Help manage site budgets, control costs, and track progress against the project plan.
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact on-site, communicating effectively with the project team, clients, and subcontractors.
Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally on commercial building projects.
A valid CSCS card (black or white/yellow).
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
First Aid at Work certification.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, health and safety legislation, and building regulations.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
A full UK driving license and the ability to travel to various sites across the North East.
