At Dudley Council, we're deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people in our borough. Responding to new referrals concerning children and young people, assessing immediate safety and welfare needs.
Undertaking comprehensive assessments, including Child in Need (CIN) assessments and Section 47 Child Protection Enquiries.
Gathering and analysing complex information from children, families, and a wide range of professionals to inform your assessments and recommendations.
Making crucial safeguarding decisions and developing immediate safety plans where necessary.
Working to statutory timescales, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
Collaborating effectively with multi-agency partners, including police, health, education, and early help services, to achieve best outcomes for children.
Maintaining accurate, analytical, and timely electronic case records in compliance with statutory requirements and Dudley Council policies.
Identifying appropriate pathways for ongoing support, whether that's transfer to a long-term team, a CIN plan, or signposting to universal services.

A recognised Social Work qualification.
Current registration with Social Work England.
Minimum 3 years post qualifying experience working with children and families in a social care setting, with direct experience in an assessment or duty team being highly desirable.

A commitment to child-centred practice and upholding the highest safeguarding standards.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use (or ability to travel efficiently around the borough).
What We Offer
