- Developing and implementing robust care plans, Pathway Plans, and transition plans that promote independence and address individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners, including legal representatives, immigration services, education providers, health professionals, and voluntary organisations.
- Providing direct support, advice, and advocacy to young people, empowering them to make informed decisions and access appropriate services.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice, including the Children Act 1989, relevant immigration legislation, and the Leaving Care Act 2000.
- Attending and contributing to various meetings, including LAC reviews, Pathway Plan reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and preparing high-quality reports.
What we are looking for:
- A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people, ideally within a statutory setting.
- A strong understanding of the specific issues and complexities faced by unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and care leavers.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance pertaining to children in care, care leavers, and asylum seekers.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- The ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- A commitment to promoting the voice and participation of young people.
- Resilience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What we offer:
- A supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Regular supervision and opportunities for professional development.
- Access to a range of training and learning opportunities.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- The opportunity to make a tangible and lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
- A commitment to flexible working arrangements where possible.
If you are ready for a challenging yet incredibly rewarding role, and you are passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of asylum-seeking young people, we encourage you to apply!
