Lead and participate in Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, contributing to the protection of adults at risk of abuse or neglect.
Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including health professionals, housing services, and community-based organisations.
Liaise with the Court of Protection regarding deputyship applications and provide evidence for DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) applications where required.
Provide advice and support to individuals, families, and carers, navigating complex systems and advocating for access to appropriate services.
Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant records on the council's electronic case management system.
Participate in regular professional supervision and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and best practice.
What We Are Looking For:
A qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care, specifically within a Learning Disabilities and/or Autism service.
Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of relevant legislation and guidance, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding adults policies.
Demonstrable experience in undertaking complex assessments, support planning, risk management, and safeguarding investigations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse individuals and families.
A person-centred approach, committed to promoting the independence, well-being, and rights of adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Ability to manage a complex caseload autonomously, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure when needed.
Proficiency in using IT systems for case management and record-keeping.
Full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes, as the role requires travel across Leicestershire.
