About the Role
As a Social Worker in the Long Term Team, you will be responsible for a manageable caseload of children subject to care proceedings and those who are looked after. You will hold the primary relationships with children, young people, and their families, leading on complex case work that ensures children achieve permanence, stability, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a complex caseload, undertaking statutory duties for Looked After Children (LAC) and those subject to Care Proceedings.
Developing and implementing comprehensive care plans, including work toward permanent solutions (e.g., return home, Special Guardianship, or Adoption).
Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and the courts.
Preparing high-quality court reports and presenting evidence with confidence and clarity.
Championing the voice of the child in all planning and decision-making processes.
What We're Looking For
Social Work Qualification: A recognised Social Work degree (or equivalent).
Registration: Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Children's Social Work, ideally within a Long Term/Permanence team environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004.
Skills: Excellent assessment, analytical, and risk management skills.
