Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Children's Services Contact Team (MASH) in Islington. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children by effectively managing incoming contacts and referrals, conducting MASH checks, and working closely with partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Make transparent, evidence-based threshold recommendations on incoming contacts.
Conduct timely information gathering and risk assessments in line with MASH procedures.
Undertake MASH checks and recommend the appropriate level of service where thresholds are unclear.
Follow strict confidentiality protocols and ensure information sharing within MASH is compliant.
Address issues of consent in all work undertaken.
Accurately and concisely record all activity using the Early Help Module IT system.
Take referrals and provide guidance to the public and professionals contacting the CSCT.
Keep referrers and partner agencies informed of referral outcomes.
Stay informed of local services to provide accurate signposting.
Foster effective, respectful, multi-agency collaboration with MASH colleagues.
Engage in regular training and continuous professional development.
Support the development and responsiveness of the CSCT service.
Attend and contribute to team meetings and supervision.
Meet personal appraisal targets and share knowledge from training courses.
Undertake additional duties as required, appropriate to the role and grade.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.
Previous MASH experience is essential.
Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds and multi-agency working.
Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage sensitive information appropriately.
