About the Role
As a Social Worker in the Safeguarding Adults team, your responsibilities will include:
Conducting safeguarding assessments: You will identify risk factors, vulnerabilities, and support needs, working closely with service users, families, carers, and multi-agency partners.
Developing and implementing protection plans: Collaborate with stakeholders to create clear, goal-oriented plans to address identified risks and support wellbeing.
Undertaking Mental Capacity and Best Interest assessments: Ensure decisions are made lawfully and in the best interest of adults lacking capacity.
Recording and reporting: Maintain high-quality, accurate, and timely records in line with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and council policy.
Multi-agency working: Participate in safeguarding enquiries and strategy meetings with partners including health, police, and housing.
Promoting rights and advocacy: Champion the rights of adults at risk, ensuring their voices are central to safeguarding decisions.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker with a strong understanding of adult safeguarding legislation and practice.
You will have:
- A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)
- A valid Social Work England registration
- Experience in working with children in care, including experience in care planning and reviews.
- Experience in working with foster families is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals.
- A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
