Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for an experienced Safeguarding Social Worker to join their dedicated Children's Services team. You will play a vital role in protecting vulnerable children, ensuring their voices are heard, and achieving the best possible outcomes for them and their families.
This is a busy frontline safeguarding role, requiring strong assessment, planning, and multi-agency working skills.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
Manage a varied caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings
Undertake thorough assessments and Section 47 enquiries
Develop and implement robust, outcome-focused care and safety plans
Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency partners
Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences, reviews, and court hearings
Maintain accurate case records on the council's systems
🔹 Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in safeguarding or child protection
Solid understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
Ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
Car driver with access to own vehicle preferred
