The Role:
As a Social Worker in our Care & Protection Team, you will be responsible for a varied and complex caseload, undertaking statutory duties under the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 and other relevant legislation. You will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk for children and families.
- Develop and implement robust child protection plans and care plans.
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, and their families.
- Prepare for and attend Children's Hearings, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings.
- Work collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies, including health, education, and police.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Participate in duty rotas and provide an effective response to referrals.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of services and practice within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
