Your Key Responsibilities
Engaging Language Delivery: Plan and teach interactive Spanish lessons, focusing on the four key pillars: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
GCSE Success: Use your expertise to guide Year 11 students through their final assessments, with a particular focus on improving confidence in phonetics and oral exams.
Cultural Connection: Use authentic resources-from Hispanic music to news and film-to make the language relevant and exciting for Blackpool students.
Progress Tracking: Provide clear, constructive feedback and use assessment data to identify and support students who need extra help.
Positive Presence: Maintain high standards of behavior and classroom management, fostering a respectful environment where students feel safe to practice their speaking skills.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, along with a degree in Spanish or a related linguistic field.
Linguistic Fluency: High-level proficiency in Spanish, with a strong grasp of grammar and tenses (Present, Preterite, and Future).
Secondary Experience: A proven track record of teaching the Spanish curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
Adaptability: The ability to join a new department mid-term and build immediate rapport with Blackpool's diverse student body.
DBS Check: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
