The Opportunity: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are looking for an exceptional, compassionate, and highly skilled SEN LSA to provide intensive, targeted support to our most vulnerable learners. This role is focused on breaking down educational barriers and enabling pupils with complex and diverse needs (including cognitive, communication, and emotional difficulties) to fully integrate into school life and make significant personal progress. You will be a vital member of the class team, working under the direct guidance of the Class Teacher and the SENCo.

Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering specialised interventions as directed, including literacy, numeracy, speech and language, or fine/gross motor skills programmes.
- Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to maximise their access to the curriculum.
- Assisting pupils with social and emotional regulation, employing positive behaviour management strategies and helping them navigate peer relationships.
- Creating and maintaining a calm, organised, and stimulating learning environment tailored to the needs of specific pupils.
- Providing intimate care and mobility assistance where required, ensuring the student's dignity and safety are maintained.
- Accurately documenting and reviewing pupil progress, engagement levels, and the effectiveness of support strategies.
- Collaborating with parents and external professionals (e.g., educational psychologists, therapists) to ensure a consistent and holistic approach.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proven, recent experience supporting children or young people with a variety of complex SEN.
- A calm, reflective, and highly resilient approach to challenging situations and behaviours.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent).
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- High standards of literacy and numeracy (equivalent to GCSE Grade C/4 or above).
- The ability to demonstrate initiative and adapt support methods instantly to meet the shifting needs of the learner.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and attending relevant training sessions.
