Do you thrive on seeing those small "lightbulb moments" in a child's development?
Are you seeking a role that prioritises human connection and emotional support over paperwork?
Could you step into a classroom at short notice and provide the stability a vulnerable pupil needs?
If these questions resonate with you, it's time to join the Randstad Education team. We are currently scouting for compassionate and resilient individuals to champion the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Leeds region.
Whether you are a Psychology graduate looking for experience, a former care worker seeking a change of pace, or a seasoned Teaching Assistant wanting more autonomy, we have the right opportunities for you.
Your New Role
You will serve as a vital link between the curriculum and students who face barriers to learning. Working within our partner Primary schools, you will:
Bridge the Gap: Translate complex class instructions into manageable tasks for students with Autism, ADHD, or Global Developmental Delay.
Regulate Emotions: Support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them navigate frustration and anxiety.
Foster Independence: assist pupils in building social skills and self-reliance, rather than doing the work for them.
Collaborate: Act as the "eyes and ears" for the class teacher, providing feedback on student progress and behaviour.
The Randstad Advantage
Autonomy: You are the boss of your own schedule. Manage your bookings via our mobile portal and only work on the days that fit your lifestyle.
Transparent Finances: We operate a strict PAYE system. You receive your earnings every Friday, with no hidden fees or third-party deductions.
Exclusive Access: We hold partnerships with Multi-Academy Trusts and schools across Leeds that do not advertise elsewhere.
Referral Bonuses: Earn extra cash by recommending friends who also go on to work with us.
What We Need From You
Background: Proven history of working with youth or vulnerable adults (Education, Residential Care, Sports Coaching, or Youth Work).
Compliance: You must hold a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to process a new application immediately).
Character: A calm demeanor under pressure and the ability to build rapport quickly with children who may be distrusting of adults.
