Key Responsibilities
Specialist Teaching: Plan and execute engaging, differentiated lessons that align with the objectives in each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Progress Monitoring: Use formal and informal assessments to meticulously track pupil data, adjusting your teaching methods to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
Curriculum Development: Select and adapt instructional resources and classroom tasks to ensure the curriculum is fully accessible to all pupils.
Collaborative Leadership: Coordinate with Teaching Assistants, external professional agencies, and parents/carers to implement a unified, multi-disciplinary support plan.
Classroom Culture: Maintain a structured, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and recognises every student's hard work and milestones.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is a mandatory requirement for the role.
Proven Experience: Significant, demonstrable experience teaching pupils with various special educational needs within a UK-based school.
Expertise: A thorough grasp of the SEN Code of Practice, various intervention methods, and effective differentiation tactics.
Personal Qualities: You must be proactive, patient, highly adaptable, and demonstrate exceptional classroom management.
Safeguarding: You must possess a current, satisfactory Enhanced DBS check or be prepared to apply for one immediately upon a job offer.
Preferred: A specialist SEN qualification (such as NASENCO) or extensive experience with complex learning difficulties is highly advantageous.
