Randstad has an opportunity available for a Student Funding Officer to join the team at Belfast Metropolitan College in the Titanic Quarter campus.
The ideal candidate will ensure that students receive accurate information regarding financial support and process applications effectively to maximise the uptake of funding opportunities across the College.

Requirements
- Hold at least a Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Business, Finance, Leadership and Management) plus two years' experience in at least 2 student support functions (including Learning Support, Student Union, Student Finance, Student Loans, Student Funding, Careers, Student Wellbeing etc), OR a Level 3 qualification plus four years' relevant experience
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at Grade C or above, or equivalent (evidence of qualification will be required)
- Current knowledge of barriers to education and the role student funding plays in overcoming them
- Detailed knowledge of funding mechanisms within the further or higher education sector
- Strong competency in relationship building, information analysis and customer service
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information to students regarding earmarked funds including the Hardship Fund, Care to Learn Scheme and EMA
- Process student finance applications efficiently to ensure the timely disbursement of funds
- Deliver presentations and outreach services across all campuses to ensure students are aware of funding initiatives
- Interpret and apply government policy related to student finance to ensure College information remains accurate and up-to-date
- Maintain and update internal databases for student loans, HE Access Funds and other financial aid
- Prepare detailed reports for the Senior Leadership Team, academic departments and external auditors
- Liaise with external bodies such as the Student Loan Company, DfE and NUS/USI
- Organise and deliver staff training sessions to ensure College personnel are informed about finance opportunities
- Coordinate panel meetings to determine the allocation and spend of earmarked funds
