We are a leading Tier 1 contractor, spearheading the multi-million-pound infrastructure upgrade program at HMNB Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. This highly complex and vital project encompasses substantial marine civils, heavy infrastructure, and specialized engineering, all crucial for supporting the UK's naval capabilities.
We are seeking a driven and experienced Contract Sub Agent to take charge of a major section or distinct package of works, leading a dedicated team within our dynamic delivery operation on-site. The Role:
As a Sub Agent, you will hold significant responsibility for the safe, efficient, and quality-driven delivery of your assigned section of works. Your leadership and technical expertise will be key to success. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Project Delivery Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operational management of your section, ensuring adherence to the project programme, budget, and quality requirements.
Programme & Planning: Developing and managing detailed section programmes, monitoring progress, identifying critical paths, and implementing recovery plans as necessary.
Team Leadership & Management: Leading, motivating, and managing a multi-disciplinary team including Section Engineers, Site Engineers, and site operatives, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensuring the rigorous implementation and enforcement of all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within your section, promoting a zero-harm culture.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring all works are constructed to the highest quality standards and specifications, overseeing inspection and test plans (ITPs), and managing comprehensive quality documentation.
Sub-contractor Management: Effectively managing, coordinating, and monitoring the performance of specialist sub-contractors and direct labour within your section, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
Resource Allocation: Optimizing the deployment of plant, labour, and materials to ensure efficient and productive operations within your area of responsibility.
Risk & Opportunity Management: Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within your section, whilst also seeking opportunities for efficiency improvements and value engineering.
Commercial Awareness: Working closely with the commercial team to manage costs, identify variations, and ensure commercial objectives are met for your section.
Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for the client, design teams, and other stakeholders for matters relating to your section of works.
Reporting: Providing accurate and timely progress reports, forecasts, and issue resolution updates to the Project Management team.
