Roles & Responsibilities
Targeted Interventions: Delivering high-impact literacy and numeracy booster sessions for small groups to close attainment gaps.
Inclusion Support: Providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to pupils with specific educational needs, ensuring they can access the full breadth of the curriculum.
Social & Emotional Guidance: Leading nurture groups and emotional literacy activities to support pupils' mental health and self-regulation.
Classroom Dynamics: Assisting the Class Teacher with proactive behaviour management, ensuring a calm and productive learning atmosphere.
Resource Innovation: Creating and adapting bespoke learning materials that cater to various learning styles and abilities.
Progress Tracking: Observing and recording pupil milestones, providing detailed feedback during staff planning meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or significant classroom-based experience.
Core Skills: Strong standards of English and Maths, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a child-friendly manner.
Attitude: A proactive, "can-do" approach with the resilience to support children through challenging learning periods.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build strong rapport with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
Safeguarding: A thorough, up-to-date understanding of safeguarding protocols and a commitment to pupil welfare.
Vetting: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a new application.
