The Role
Are you a resilient, empathetic, and dedicated professional looking to make a genuine difference? We are seeking Female Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centered care to an adult with learning disabilities.
Your goal is to empower the individual to live as independently as possible, both within their own home and out in the local Cumbria community. This is a 2:1 support environment, meaning you will always work alongside a colleague to provide a safe and enriching environment for the client.
What You'll Be Doing
Promoting Independence: Assisting with daily life skills, from meal preparation and household tasks to managing appointments.
Community Engagement: Supporting the client to access local activities, hobbies, and social events.
Positive Behavior Support: Providing vital support with de-escalation techniques when the individual becomes heightened, ensuring their safety and wellbeing are maintained with dignity.
Relationship Building: Developing a deep understanding of the client's communication style and triggers.
Shift Patterns & Availability
To provide the consistency our client needs, we require applicants with full-time availability who are happy to match the client's rota.
Standard Shift Rotation Includes:
Day Shift: 08:00 - 20:00
Sleep-in: Following the day shift
About You
Resilient & Calm: You can stay composed in challenging situations and have experience (or a strong willingness to learn) in de-escalation.
Flexible: You are committed to a rota that includes weekends and sleep-ins.
Driven by Values: You believe everyone deserves to live a full life regardless of their disability.
Requirement: Due to the personal care needs and specific requirements of the individual, this position is open to Female applicants only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010).
