The Role: What You'll Be Doing
As a Support Worker, your day will be varied and rewarding. You will be responsible for providing personalised care and assistance, tailored to the unique needs of each person you support. Your duties will include:
- Daily Living Support: Assisting with a wide range of tasks to support independence, such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, household chores, and managing appointments.
- Personal Care: Providing respectful and dignified support with personal hygiene, dressing, and other care needs as required by the individual's care plan.
- Social & Emotional Support: Offering companionship, building rapport, and encouraging engagement in hobbies, social activities, and community events to combat loneliness and promote well-being.
- Health & Wellness: Helping individuals manage their medication, attending medical appointments, and monitoring their overall health.
- Goal Achievement: Working collaboratively with individuals to identify their personal goals and create a plan to help them achieve them, whether it's learning a new skill, finding a new hobby, or improving their health.
The Ideal Candidate: Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a reliable, and proactive individual with a strong desire to help others. The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience as a support worker, care assistant, or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential. We are willing to provide training for the right person with the right attitude.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: The ability to listen actively, communicate clearly, and build trusting relationships with individuals, their families, and other professionals.
- A Positive Attitude: A resilient and empathetic mindset, with a knack for finding creative solutions and celebrating every milestone, big or small.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing needs and situations while maintaining a high level of care and professionalism.
- A Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable, as you may be required to travel between locations.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and the willingness to undergo a full DBS check.
