About the Role
A thriving secondary school in Wakefield is seeking a full-time Teacher of Art and Design & Technology to join their creative faculty in September 2025. Essential Requirements
... - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Familiarity with GCSE specifications and assessment criteria.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Excellent subject knowledge in Art and D&T.
- Creative lesson planning and resource development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in both traditional and digital design tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative and technically accurate lessons in Art and D&T.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE-level courses.
- Foster a love of design, creativity, and innovation.
- Promote cross-curricular learning between Art and D&T.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to the design and development of the curriculum.
- Lead or support extracurricular activities such as clubs, exhibitions, or competitions.
- Engage in regular professional development and reflective practice.
- Maintain equipment, materials, and classroom displays.
