Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons that challenge and inspire students of all abilities.
• Exam Preparation: Guiding Year 11 students through the rigors of GCSE AQA/Edexcel specifications, focusing on both creative writing and critical analysis.
• Assessment & Tracking: Monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and using data to inform future planning and interventions.
• Departmental Contribution: Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development and participating in extra-curricular activities like creative writing clubs or debating societies.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role. We also welcome applications from ECTs.
• Subject Expertise: A degree in English or a related subject, with a deep understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Classroom Management: Proven ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to motivate students of varying backgrounds.
• Commute: Ideally based in Wickford or nearby (South-East Essex), with good access via the A127 or the Greater Anglia rail line.
