Essential Requirements
... - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum for English and a commitment to delivering a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Mark, assess, and provide constructive feedback on student work in line with school policy.
- Monitor, track, and report on student progress, using data to inform future planning.
- Differentiate lessons to support a wide range of abilities and learning needs, including students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages mutual respect and participation.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and moderation of the English curriculum.
- Set and mark homework and internal assessments.
- Prepare students for external examinations, particularly GCSE English Language and Literature.
- Participate in departmental meetings and whole-school training.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being.
- Promote literacy across the curriculum and a love of reading throughout the school.
