About the Role
This is a full-time position where you will be an integral part of a thriving English department. The role involves teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for opportunities at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will be responsible for creating a positive and stimulating learning environment, encouraging students to develop a lifelong love of reading, writing, and communication.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum for English.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Exceptional subject knowledge of English Language and Literature.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Creativity and innovation in lesson planning and delivery.
- The ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
- An analytical mind and the ability to use data to inform teaching.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons across all ability levels.
- Set and mark student work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Monitor and track student progress, using data to inform future planning.
- Differentiate lessons to support a wide range of learning needs, including students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Contribute to the development and moderation of the English curriculum.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations, particularly GCSE English Language and Literature.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being.
- Promote literacy across the curriculum and a love of reading throughout the school.
- Uphold and promote the school's values and safeguarding policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and whole-school training events.
