About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Teacher of Health and Social Care for a full-time, immediate-start role at a thriving secondary school in the Bradford. This is an essential full-time position responsible for the planning, teaching, and assessment of Health and Social Care across key stages. The successful candidate will be integral to the department, driving student engagement and ensuring excellent academic outcomes.
Essential Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Specialist knowledge and experience teaching Health and Social Care, preferably at secondary or post-16 level.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Skill in differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic school environment.
- Creativity in lesson planning and resource development.
- Expertise in using student data to monitor performance and set ambitious targets.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently to drive improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and engaging lessons across all relevant key stages and ability ranges.
- Plan, prepare, and mark stimulating lessons and coursework to a high standard, meeting BTEC requirements.
- Assess and monitor student progress rigorously, using data to inform future planning and intervention strategies.
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure the Health and Social Care offer is current, relevant, and inspiring.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and stimulating learning environment rooted in mutual respect.
- Provide robust pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting well-being and a positive attitude towards study.
- Attend and contribute to departmental and whole-school meetings, including parent's evenings and CPD sessions.
- Uphold the school's high expectations for behaviour, encouraging courtesy and kindness among students.
- Engage in continuous professional development to remain an expert practitioner in the field of Health and Social Care.
- Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies, where necessary, regarding student progress and welfare.
