Core Responsibilities

• Practical Learning: Planning and conducting safe, engaging laboratory experiments that bring the curriculum to life.
• Curriculum Delivery: Teaching General Science at KS3 and your subject specialism at GCSE level (AQA/Edexcel/OCR).
• Exam Excellence: Preparing students for the rigors of required practicals and written examinations, ensuring high levels of attainment.
• Inclusion: Differentiating complex scientific concepts to ensure accessibility for all learners, including those with SEND.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety within the laboratory environment (COSHH).

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A mandatory requirement. Applications from ECTs are highly encouraged.
• Scientific Background: A degree in a Science-related discipline.
• Passion for Inquiry: An ability to foster a "scientific mindset" in students-encouraging questioning, testing, and analytical thinking.
• Strong Management: Excellent classroom management skills to ensure a safe and productive lab environment.
• Local Connection: Wickford-based or able to commute easily via the A127 or the Southend-bound rail link.
