About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join a secondary school in Wakefield as a Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time, starting as soon as possible, and involves working with a diverse range of students to support their academic, social, and emotional development. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to assist with lesson delivery, prepare resources, and help manage classroom behaviour. A significant part of this role involves providing one-on-one and small group support, particularly for students with special educational needs (SEN). The Teaching Assistant is an integral part of the school community, providing essential support that enables every student to thrive.

Requirements
... - Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Responsibilities
- Assisting the class teacher with the preparation of resources and learning materials.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those with SEN.
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensuring a productive learning atmosphere.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and providing feedback to the teacher.
- Supporting students during school trips, break times, and other activities.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as photocopying and display work.
- Promoting the independence and self-esteem of students.
- Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and other support strategies.
- Fostering a positive and encouraging relationship with students.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
