We are working closely with a variety of fantastic secondary schools across Warrington who are looking for dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their teams as the new academic year begins.
As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of the classroom - helping pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether it's supporting learning in class, working with students who need extra help, or assisting in lesson preparation, your role will be varied and meaningful.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students across KS3 and KS4, both 1:1 and in small groups.
- Support students with additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Encourage student participation and boost confidence and engagement.
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students during exams, assessments, and independent tasks.
- Supervise break and lunch duties where needed.
- Prepare and maintain classroom resources and learning materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with secondary-aged children (either in school or youth/community settings).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
- A proactive, caring, and patient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
