Teaching Assistant - Sheffield, South Yorkshire
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming primary school teams in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to directly impact children's education, providing essential support that helps every pupil thrive.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be an invaluable asset to our classroom, working closely with teachers and pupils to foster an engaging and effective learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Preparation: Getting the classroom ready for lessons, ensuring all materials and equipment are organised and accessible.
- Direct Pupil Support: Providing essential one-on-one or small group support to children who need extra help, listening to them read, reading to them, and helping them complete tasks.
- Learning Activities: Assisting teachers in planning and delivering learning activities, adapting to different needs, and helping to create optimal conditions for learning.
- Behaviour & Well-being: Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour, supervising group activities, and providing care and comfort to children who are upset or have had accidents.
- Administrative & Logistical Support: Helping to complete records, clearing away materials after lessons, assisting with outings and sports events, and carrying out general administrative tasks.
- Positive Learning Environment: Contributing actively to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where children feel motivated and enjoy learning.
Essential Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
- Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant.
