They are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join this dedicated team.
The Role / Key Duties:
As a Teaching Assistant, your role is crucial in supporting children with their learning and general well-being, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.
Responsibilities include providing support with care needs, positive behaviour management, and fostering warm, supportive relationships with pupils. You'll assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality, differentiated educational activities, promoting independence, personal development, and maintaining high behaviour expectations.
Flexibility is key as duties may vary in this SEN environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting
- Full UK driving license and access to your own car desirable
- A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent desirable
- Essential GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification
- Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD
- Ability to adapt
- Desire to prioritise the child and treat them as an individual
- Positive and creative approach in meeting pupils' individual needs
