What We're Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience working in a UK primary school setting, ideally supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
- SEN Understanding: Experience and a genuine passion for working with and adapting support for pupils with a range of special educational needs. A commitment to inclusive practice is essential.
- Commitment: This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in January. Our aim is to place you in a consistent role, though initial placements may be day-to-day for supply needs.
- Qulifications in early years, childcare, education, support teaching.
- Hours: You can commit to full-time hours, typically 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, during term time.
- Key Qualities: You should be adaptable, resilient, and have a positive, collaborative attitude. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong rapport with children and staff are a must.
Your Role Will Involve
- In-Class Support: Provide direct support to pupils, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, to help them access the curriculum.
- SEN Support: Implement specific strategies and interventions, as directed by the class teacher and SENCO, to support pupils with special educational needs.
- Creating a Positive Environment: Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all children feel safe and valued.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other school staff to support pupil well-being and academic success.
