We have a n initially temporary Routing Technical Officer role available within TATA Steel's Trostre site. This role is ideal for someone who considers themselves to be hands-on and is familiar with connecting commercial and technical departments from within a heavy industrial environment.
Role: Routing Technical Officer
Location: Tata Steel, Trostre, Maes-Ar-Ddafen Road, Llanelli SA14 9SD (100% site based)
Pay: £28,000 per annum, £14.75ph
Contract length: 12 months initially
Shift Patterns: 36.5 hours per week, Mon-Thu 08:30-16:45 and Fri 08:30-15:45
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test
Responsibilities:
- Serving as the primary technical link between Commercial, Sales, Production, and Quality to unify understanding of order requirements and feasibility
- Converting complex customer specs and commercial needs into practical routing instructions and manufacturing parameters
- Maintaining the integrity of all product routing and manufacturing master data within the core system
- Providing immediate technical assistance to manufacturing to resolve routing issues impacting schedule or quality
- Collaborating with Quality Specialists to analyse defect mapping data and refine routing/manufacturing parameters for continuous improvement
- Staying current with product specs, materials, and technology to proactively update and optimise order routing paths
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience within a technical and manufacturing environment (2+ years)
- riving licence and access to own vehicle (due to the size and nature of the site)
- Strong It literacy, especially with in house systems and data management
- Problem-Solving and troubleshooting capability and experience
- A desire for achieving maximum quality and continuous improvement
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capability of using own initiative and applying a proactive approach to tasks
