Are you an experienced and safety-conscious traffic marshall looking for a stable, long-term contract? We are currently recruiting for a professional to manage site logistics on a major commercial development in Appleby-in-Westmorland.
The Role and Responsibilities:
As the primary point of contact at the site entrance, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient flow of traffic. Your duties will include:
- Gate Management: Controlling all vehicle access and egress, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the site.
- Vehicle Banking: Safely directing HGVs, concrete wagons, and plant machinery using standard hand signals or radio communication.
- Pedestrian Safety: Ensuring strict segregation between heavy vehicle movements and pedestrian walkways to protect site staff and the public.
- Logistics Coordination: Liaising with the Site Manager to manage delivery schedules and prevent congestion on local roads.
- Site Documentation: Ensuring all drivers are briefed on site safety and that delivery logs are maintained accurately.
Essential Requirements:
- Certification: A valid Traffic Marshall / Vehicle Banksman ticket is mandatory.
- CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card is essential for site entry.
- Experience: Proven experience working on a busy commercial construction site.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to be assertive yet professional.
- Reliability: High levels of punctuality and a commitment to a long-term role.
- PPE: Must have your own full Personal Protective Equipment (Hard hat, hi-vis, steel toe boots).
