The Role and Responsibilities:
As the primary point of contact for site logistics, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all vehicle and pedestrian movements. Your duties will include:
- Managing Site Access: Controlling the entry and egress of all construction vehicles, plant machinery, and deliveries.
- Banksman Duties: Providing clear and safe guidance to drivers using standard hand signals and radio communication.
- Pedestrian Safety: Maintaining strict segregation between heavy vehicle routes and pedestrian walkways to ensure the safety of the public and site staff.
- Logistics Liaison: Working closely with the Site Manager to coordinate delivery schedules and minimize disruption to the local Newcastle area.
- Health & Safety: Ensuring all site visitors adhere to safety protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.
Essential Requirements:
- A valid Traffic Marshall / Vehicle Banksman qualification or ticket is essential.
- A valid CSCS Card is mandatory.
- Previous experience working on a busy residential construction site.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, authoritative manner.
- High levels of punctuality and reliability.
- Must have your own full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
