Job Overview
- Job Title: TIG Welder
- Location: Banbridge (BT32 3QD)
- Pay Rate: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Contract Duration: Temporary (Minimum 8 weeks, with possibility of going Permanent)
- Working Hours: ~39 hours per week
- Monday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
- Friday: 07:00 - 15:00 (Enjoy an early start to your weekend!)
- Overtime: Potential overtime available
- Holidays: 30 days per year (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
- Background Check: Basic DBS check required
- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality, precise TIG welding and fabrication tasks in accordance with engineering/blueprint drawings and company procedures.
- Fabricate pipework sections using black iron and stainless steel to the highest quality standards.
- Prepare weld surfaces, manage welding equipment/consumables, and conduct thorough pre- and post-weld visual quality checks.
- Undergo on-site practical weld testing to qualify to specific company procedures.
- Safely operate hand and power tools common to the fabrication and welding trade.
- Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, ensuring correct PPE and extraction equipment are used at all times.
- Maintain high standards of workplace cleanliness, housekeeping, and continuous operational improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on TIG welding and pipework fabrication experience.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work on your own initiative.
- Materials: Competent in welding/fabricating with black iron and stainless-steel pipe.
- Practical Testing: Ability to pass an on-site practical weld test.
- Vetting: Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, excellent work ethic, and a commitment to safe working habits.
