Location: Holcim UK Ltd, Torr Quarry, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 4SQ
Rate: £13.56 per hour
Contract length: Initially 6 months (possibility of extension)
Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Paid Lunch), 42.5 hours per week
Overtime: x1.5 (Monday - Saturday), Double pay on Sundays
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Operate a loading shovel and forklift (valid licence required; clamp training provided) to safely transport, stack, and load/unload lorries.
- Carry out pre-use checks and basic maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Perform manual yard duties including lifting up to 25kg, shovelling concrete, and general site upkeep.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by sweeping and removing debris.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Previous experience in a Quarry or similar outdoor/industrial environment
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Willingness to perform physically demanding manual tasks
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience using Forklift Clamp
