What We're Looking For
We are seeking a creative, inspirational teacher who understands the unique needs and developmental stage of Year 1 pupils. You will be genuinely passionate about teaching and learning, with high expectations for pupil achievement, progress, and behaviour. Your role will be to teach every pupil in your class according to their educational needs, ensuring that every lesson counts. You will undertake careful planning, using effective and creative methods to deliver a differentiated curriculum. Your goal is to create a secure, well-ordered, and engaging environment that ensures the educational well-being of every child.
Your Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Planning: Plan and deliver an engaging curriculum that uses ICT effectively and is tailored to the ability of each child.
- Assessment & Tracking: Conduct ongoing assessments, complete all records, and work with school leaders to track pupil progress and intervene where needed.
- Creating the Environment: Create a well-ordered classroom, manage displays and contribute to the whole school ethos.
- Collaboration & Communication: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and work collaboratively with other staff and professional agencies.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings and in-service training to ensure you are up-to-date with the latest educational practices.
- Safeguarding: Actively implement equal opportunities and ensure a safe, secure learning environment for all pupils.
Essential Requirements & Skills
- Qualifications: You must hold QTS or an equivalent qualification and be eligible to work in the UK.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the curriculum and effective Key Stage 1 teaching methods.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with young children, their parents, and colleagues.
- Patience & Creativity: The patience and understanding to support children's individual needs, along with the creativity to make learning stimulating and inclusive.
- Organisation: The ability to manage classroom activities, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other teachers and support staff.
