Key Responsibilities:
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, your role is crucial to the success of the classroom. You will be responsible for:
Providing one-on-one and small-group support to improve phonics, reading fluency, and comprehension.
Assisting pupils with key academic skills, including handwriting, spelling, and basic mathematical concepts.
Helping the class teacher deliver structured lessons and preparing resources and materials that align with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
Upholding and reinforcing the school's behaviour policies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Monitoring pupils' progress and providing detailed feedback to the teacher on their academic and personal development.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but not essential.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A nurturing and patient approach to working with children.
A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
First Aid training is preferred, but not essential.
