About You: The Ideal Candidate

We are searching for a skilled primary teacher who can create inspiring and effective learning experiences. You will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification (e.g., PGCE).

• Proven experience teaching Key Stage 1 (KS1), with specific knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum.

• A valid Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one).

• Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning space.

• Strong communication skills to build rapport with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

• A genuine commitment to raising attainment and a passion for teaching.

Your Responsibilities as a Year 2 Teacher

Your core duties will involve the full scope of a class teacher role, including:

• Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all pupils in your Year 2 class.

• Effectively teaching all areas of the KS1 National Curriculum, with a focus on phonics, literacy, and numeracy.

• Preparing pupils for their end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs) in a supportive and low-pressure manner.

• Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress and development.

• Working collaboratively with the KS1 team, teaching assistants, and the school's SENCO to ensure consistent and effective support for every child.

• Maintaining regular and constructive communication with parents and carers about their child's learning.
