Year 6 Teacher - Guiding the Next Generation in Doncaster!
We are actively seeking an inspiring and highly skilled Year 6 Teacher to join one of our schools in Doncaster from September 2025. This full-time role offers a unique and incredibly rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping our pupils final primary school experience, preparing them confidently for their transition to secondary education.
About the Role: Empowering Year 6 Success
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering both the academic attainment and personal growth of our pupils, ensuring they reach their full potential. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Setting High Expectations: Establishing a safe, stimulating, and mutually respectful classroom environment, setting ambitious goals that challenge and motivate pupils from all backgrounds and abilities.
- Driving Progress & Outcomes: Taking accountability for pupils attainment and progress, planning teaching that builds effectively on their prior knowledge, and guiding them to reflect on their learning journey.
- Curriculum Expertise: Demonstrating secure knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum, fostering intellectual curiosity, and promoting high standards of literacy, articulacy, and standard English.
- Effective Lesson Delivery: Planning and teaching well-structured, engaging lessons that impart knowledge and develop understanding, including setting homework and contributing to an exciting curriculum design.
- Differentiated Teaching: Skillfully adapting teaching approaches to respond to the diverse strengths and needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, high ability, EAL, or disabilities, ensuring effective learning for every child.
- Strategic Assessment: Making accurate and productive use of both formative and summative assessment, using data to monitor progress, set targets, and provide regular, constructive feedback (both oral and through marking).
- Positive Behaviour Management: Implementing clear rules and routines, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, and managing the classroom effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Wider Professional Contribution: Being an excellent role model, effectively deploying support staff, actively contributing to the wider life and ethos of the school, and developing strong relationships with colleagues and parents. You will also safeguard the welfare of all children.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
