I have over 10 years experience of recruiting quality candidates for children's residential services throughout the Midlands region. My ethos is to have extensive knowledge of the clients I work with and an understanding of the young people they support to ensure the right candidate match for the service, building longstanding relationships with both clients and candidates.

Randstad Care - Birmingham

The Birmingham branch is the most established team in the UK, with Consultants combining over 40 years of valuable experience within Randstad Care.

From the Birmingham branch we specialise in the recruitment of Allied Health Professionals, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists (OT) Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Support Workers (RSW), Adults and Children’s and Qualified Social Workers (QSW). We provide our services to the NHS, Local Authorities and Private and Voluntary Clients. 

We provide a valuable service to a great number of key clients throughout the West and East Midlands, both city centre based and more rural and hard to get to locations. We are viewed by our Clients as providing an honest and quality driven service, with Consultants that understand the geography and the needs of its local area. 

We also support candidates with finding their perfect next role both on a temporary and permanent basis, focussing on ensuring the right organisation, culture and team fit that is ideal for the individual. From the Birmingham branch we help over 200 candidates per year to find their next career move within the Health and Social Care Industry. 

Working within the community

We work with Variety, a charity that helps to improve children’s lives no matter what their circumstances. In the past we have arranged fundraising activities, one example of which was a raffle that managed to raise £127 in a very short space of time.


Meet the Team

Justin Garland - Business Manager
Justin has worked in the recruitment Industry for 11 years with a mix of Education and Health and Social Care experience. Following seven years as a Secondary School teacher, Justin decided to make the move into the recruitment Industry and has not looked back since.  After joining Randstad 3 years ago to open a satellite branch of Randstad Care in his home town Worcester, Justin has been fortunate enough to be internally promoted firstly to Section Manager then to Business Manager of Randstad’s busy Birmingham City Centre Health and Social Care hub.

The main areas of the post that Justin enjoys the most is seeing Consultants achieve their very best and the knowledge that the Branch are providing the very best candidates to those service users that need help the most.

Vanessa Platt - Principal Consultant
Vanessa has worked for Randstad Care for almost 10 years.

Her specialism is in the Residential Childcare field.  Vanessa's success has been built through years of building strong, long term relationships with both clients and candidates alike. Through hard work and determination Vanessa soon became an expert in her field.

Leah Rowley - Principal Consultant
Leah has worked in the recruitment industry for 12 years after relocating from Plymouth to the West Midlands.  Initially she was recruiting for an organisation placing temporary office staff and had over 120 workers.  The past 10 years Leah has been recruiting for Allied Health Professionals and specifically Speech and Language Therapists for Randstad Care.  Randstad Care is a preferred supplier to AHP staff in the NHS.  We also supply to the private sector and local education authorities and have developed long-standing relationships with candidates and clients.

Emma Mantle - Key Accounts - Accord Senior Accounts Coordinator
Emma has worked within sales and recruitment since leaving college in 2008.  She has worked within various industries over a short period of time including hospitality, industrial, education & Care.  Emma originally joined Randstad in May 2012, however left due to office relocation at the end of the year.  Emma went on to manage an Industrial Office in Bristol then returned to Birmingham at Randstad Care in 2013. 

Since being back at Randstad, Emma has been able to put her recruitment experience straight into practice tackling the New Accord contract head on.

James Glover - National Account Consultant

James has just joined Randstad from a National Leisure company where he headed up their sales team.  James has a passion for the health & social care sector and uses his excellent customer service skills to support our large national account clients in the Midlands area.

Vanessa ensures that communication is good which enhances the service that we get from the agency. Vanessa will often check in with myself and the team leaders to make sure that things are going okay. In addition to this she will always get back to us with progress of what staffing
resources she has been able to find and will inform us quickly when staffing cannot be found which makes our job a lot easier as we can then reassess the staffing situation quickly and look for alternative solutions.

Any issues that have arisen have always been sorted out promptly and thoroughly which is excellent.
